More than seven hours ago, I left my sister’s place to help inventory books. I tied up the dog and closed the iTunes window and walked out the door.
I just got back and walked into a pitch black house, and into a cloud of music that never stopped playing. The iTunes window is gone. It’s not minimized. But it’s still playing, on shuffle, somewhere in the background ether of my computer.
Seven hours ago I requested from iTunes that the music end. Seven hours later, while disappearing from my window of visibility, iTunes stubbornly played on.
These are the things that creep me out about technology.
